What we do

Qualify for Success is a project run by Greater Manchester Community Chaplaincy, offering on-the-job training for our clients towards nationally recognised qualifications. We are aiming to break down the barriers associated with school and college style settings for people with convictions.

Our ethos on the project is the need to understand the complex social issues that our clients face daily. It is to allow for this to be reflected in the style of learning we present. We do this by harnessing several powerful values:

Success: understanding that relapse occurs within rehabilitation, we aim to accept clients back despite setbacks they have encountered.

Trust: placing great value on being able to trust our clients creates a positive, inviting and engaging environment for all staff, volunteers and clients.

Loyalty: being open, honest and reliable generates a sense of belonging to the work they do.

Hope: feeling that there is another way and opportunities to gain education and then employment, helps clients feels hopeful for their future.

What our clients say

QfS offers the time and experience to help tackle the chaos, confusion and setbacks that our clients may experience during the transition from prison into education.

“I have been offered all types of support in the past which I have attended which have been of no use to me. Its a unique service with welcoming volunteers and highly beneficial to me and I believe to many others.”

*Jane

*Jane

Jane undertook a computer course which really helped as she had no previous knowledge or experience. She volunteered for a while and now has a paid role and a real passion to help others with the kind of change she has experienced.
